3 Things to Bring When Visiting a New Mom
If you’re visiting a friend because she just had a baby, here are three things you can bring her! Don’t ask her, just bring – trust me. It might make her cry, but a good cry!
- Coffee. If she doesn’t drink coffee or caffeine, then a drink from Starbucks like tea or some fruity drink. Just bring a drink, it’s seriously so nice and if you ask her if she wants one she’ll say no (but would actually love one because a new mom doesn’t sleep). Plus, if you know she’s a Starbucks lover, she probably hasn’t been there in awhile and it will feel somewhat normal for her. It will really go a long way.
- A candle. Who doesn’t love candles? And honestly the last thing a mom needs to worry about is her house smelling or being clean with a newborn. So go pick out a nice smelling candle for whatever season you’re in and she’ll love it! Not only will she be happy to smell something nice (cause new mamas don’t get to shower as much as they’d like to) and her other guests will like it as well. It’s a win win. Here’s some you can order off amazon – 4 of them for $16 – not bad!
- Amazon gift card. You think you use Amazon prime a lot? Oh my god a new mom, or a mom with a newborn will have you beat. It’s something new everyday and is usually ordered at 2am. So if you’re looking to give a nice little gift, a $25 Amazon gift card will go a long way with a mom, especially when she remembers she has some $$$ to spend when shes up in the middle of the night for the third time!
I remember when I had visitors seeing my son for the first time, my sister in law asked if I wanted anything from Starbucks. I said no because I didn’t want to have her go out of her way but I wanted that coffee SO BAD. I was so tired and love Starbucks, but still didn’t feel okay to say “Yes I’d love some coffee!” I hope the next time you visit a mama with a newborn, you think about taking over one of the items I listed above because it’ll make that mama smile!
